YRDSB Secondary School Learning Model Form

Dear Families,

We are excited to welcome students back to school for the 2021-2022 school year and transition back to regular routines and programming. On June 17 and June 28, we provided information to all families about our anticipated modified four-course semester model for the reopening for all secondary schools.

Today, we will be sharing more information about our Learning Model for school reopening and information about our School Day, Learning Model and Video and Audio.

The Government of Ontario previously announced that school boards should plan full-time in-person learning for all secondary schools. Accordingly, the Board has also developed plans to support full-remote learning models if the province or public health deem this necessary.

The Board has worked closely with the Ministry of Education and Public Health to develop its return to school plans and the Ministry has shared that this summer it will provide further guidance on requirements such as masking, hand hygiene, cohorting for clubs and other extracurriculars and screening.

The expectation is that all students return to in-person face-to-face learning unless there are extenuating circumstances. If your child requires remote learning please complete the following School Learning Form. Families DO NOT need to complete the linked form if your child is returning to face-to-face learning.

For students that require remote learning, information on the hybrid learning model can be found on the Board’s website here.

Our Board supports three different school year calendars across 33 high schools. For your child(ren), please review the appropriate school calendar below:

Early Start Schools: Keswick HS, Maple HS, Markville SS, and Sutton DHS
